The history of Wainsgate is, like the rest of West Yorkshire and much of the North of England, intertwined with the development of the textile industry which has shaped the whole region.<\/p>
For hundreds of years, the textile industry was an engine of growth and prosperity with towns and cities built for and around it.<\/p>
The film you’re watching is made from found materials and is a precursor to a much bigger exhibition about work and workers past and present planned for 2024.<\/p>
