The American spiritual teacher Ram Dass repeatedly encouraged a practice of intently\u00a0listening to sense what the form of our dance<\/em>\u00a0might be \u2013 the quieter we are the more we hear. Catherine<\/a> and Ben<\/a> lead a weekend of\u00a0uncovering, discovering, and inviting movement through the complimentary disciplines of mindful yoga and dancing.<\/p>

Catherine Annis<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is well known for her imaginative and practical approach to yoga. Originally a professional dancer, she discovered yoga as a teenager, and has been practising since the mid 1970s.\u00a0<\/p>

In 2017 she created the\u00a0Intelligent Yoga Teacher Training Course and teaches workshops and trainings in the UK and Internationally.<\/p>

Catherine has taught in London’s leading yoga studios and teacher training courses for nearly 20 years before moving to Exmoor, where she now lives with her husband and dog.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Her main focus is wellbeing, in particular how yoga and breathing help down-regulate our nervous system, providing inner calm and relaxation to those working with pain, stress and anxiety.\u00a0<\/p>

Catherine has recently taken up cold water swimming.\u00a0<\/p>

Ben Wright<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is an independent artist working in dance, theatre, opera and film. He trained at Ballet Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and worked as a performer between 1991-2006.<\/p>

He was Artistic co-director for\u00a0Candoco Dance Company<\/strong>\u00a02017-2020 and Associate Artistic Director\/Choreographer for\u00a0Sk\u00e5nes Dansteater\u00a0<\/strong>2014\u20132017. He joined the faculty at Northern School of Contemporary Dance in the UK in 2022 where he lectures in improvisation, performance, and choreography.\u00a0<\/p>

Recent movement work includes\u00a0Orlando\u00a0<\/em>with Emma Corrin at The Garrick Theatre London,\u00a0The Lost Thing<\/em>\u00a0for The Royal Opera House London and Candoco,\u00a0A space in the Dark\u00a0<\/em>for Black Box Dance Theatre and the film of his production\u00a0The Feeling of Going<\/em>\u00a0– a fully orchestrated staging of Sigur Ros frontman Jonsi\u2019s album GO for Sk\u00e5nes Dansteater. Wright also worked as an intimacy coordinator for the Amazon film\u00a0My Policeman\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Funny Woman\u00a0<\/em>for Sky Atlantic in 2021.\u00a0<\/p>

As a performer Ben worked for Stan Wont Dance, Adventures in Motion Pictures, Ricochet, London Contemporary Dance Theatre, Richard Alston and Amanda Miller. In 1995 he created the role of the Prince in Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake.<\/p>
