Renowned poets\u00a0Imtiaz Dharker<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Amanda Dalton<\/strong> share this celebratory reading of their new Bloodaxe poetry collections \u2013\u00a0Shadow Reader\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Fantastic Voyage –\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0both published on the same day.<\/p>

Imtiaz Dharker\u00a0<\/strong>is one of the UK\u2019s finest and most loved poets. She grew up a \u2018Muslim Calvinist\u2019 in a Lahori household in Glasgow, was adopted by India and married into Wales. In 2014 she was awarded the prestigious Queen\u2019s Gold Medal for her fifth collection of poems and her services to poetry. Her main themes are drawn from a life of transition, childhood, exile, journeying, home, displacement and, latterly, grief. She is also an accomplished artist and her new collection is illustrated with 16 black and white drawings which form an integral part of the book.<\/p>

Amanda Dalton<\/strong>\u00a0is a poet, theatre and radio playwright, essayist and teacher, born in Coventry and based in Hebden Bridge,\u00a0 where she settled after four years as Centre Director at Arvon\u2019s Lumb Bank in the 1990s. She has published two previous full-length poetry collections with Bloodaxe and pamphlets including an\u00a0<\/em>experimental poetry \u2018sketchbook,\u2019\u00a030 Poems In Thirty Days\u00a0<\/em>(Arc Publications 2021) and\u00a0Notes on Water (<\/em>smith|doorstop 2022).<\/p>
