A unique double-bill with the legendary musician, songwriter, author and broadcaster, and multi-instrumentalist and composer Arun Ghosh
On Dylan Thomas: Under Milk Wood with music
Cerys Matthews and Arun Ghosh bring Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood to life in a spellbinding evening of words and music.
Welsh singer-songwriter and broadcaster Cerys Matthews — whose Radio 6 Sunday morning show is the station’s most-listened-to programme — takes us on a journey through Llareggub, the fictional village at the heart of Thomas’ masterpiece. Alongside her, acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Arun Ghosh conjures atmosphere and character on clarinet and harmonium. Together they animate Thomas’ unforgettable cast — from Captain Cat to Nogood Boyo — celebrating one of the 20th century’s most loved works through storytelling, poetry, and music.
Matthews’ deep connection to Dylan Thomas runs throughout her career: she has composed music for A Child’s Christmas in Wales and published Out of Chaos Come Bliss, a collection of his poetry, as well as her own retelling of Under Milk Wood.
