Bradford Women Singers’ powerful songs weave together their voices, their hearts and their hopes for social justice.

PiCanta offers a unique mix of world music, pop and stories in many languages, with body percussion and rhythmic energy.

Bradford Women Singers bring together music, politics and friendship. They sing about what is important to them: injustice and war, the earth, love and hope. They are delighted to be, once more, sharing a stage with their German friends.

Since 2012, the acapella women’s choir PiCanta has been captivating, entertaining and inspiring audiences with its unique mix of world music, pop, and stories set to music.

Thanks to a deep connection with their English musician friends, they are travelling from Wendland in northern Germany to England for the third time. Their powerful performances embody female strength, solidarity, and diversity. PiCanta is rebellious, wise, sisterly, and always melodious. With their multilingual songs and rhythmic energy, they create an atmosphere that encourages, touches and inspires. Their programme is called ‘Ermutigung’ which literally translates as ‘Encouraging’.
