SEWainsgate 2
SUNDAY 29TH OCTOBER 11AM - 4PM

After the great success of our first SEWWainsgate event, we are looking for volunteers to take part in another fun day of sewing and making with others. And there will be soup, cake and refreshments provided. Read on to find out more...

The Sunday School Room at Wainsgate will once again be set up to look like our very own version of the Great British Sewing Bee, and we’d like as many volunteers as possible to donate some of your time, and use your sewing skills to make a range of simple items (see photo’s above for last week’s sewing event).
We’ll provide step by step instructions to make things like reusable gift bags, key rings and tote bags, so that we can all work together in producing quality items which will be sold at Advent at Wainsgate in aid of Wainsgate Chapel funds.
We need people with all sorts of skills, from cutting out fabric pieces, to those who can competently drive a sewing machine.
But don’t worry if you think you can’t sew – if you are happy to trim off thread ends, sew on the odd decorative button, or can simply entertain us with cheerful chat and regular cups of coffee, then you are also most welcome!
There will be a simple soup lunch, and homemade refreshments.
We want this to be a social event and lots of fun, so please consider coming along and getting involved for at least an hour or so.
We are limiting numbers due to space, and an already enthusiastic sign-up rate, so please click the button below and apply using the form.
We’ll get back to you very soon to let you know if you have a place on this occasion.

If you have more questions, get in touch with Helen at [email protected]
Many thanks to Ian Mankin for the donated fabric.
