Join Wainsgate Chapel at a pivotal moment

Volunteer Marketing & Comms Role at Wainsgate Chapel
Wainsgate Chapel is at an exciting turning point. This much-loved, historic building—set in the stunning South Pennines—is about to enter a new phase as the newly formed Wainsgate Chapel Charity takes ownership of the site. Alongside this major transition, our nationally and internationally recognised arts and heritage programme is flourishing like never before.
We’re looking for a passionate, imaginative person to join our small but mighty volunteer team to help us shape and deliver a bold, dynamic marketing and communications strategy. This is a chance to be part of something truly special—an artist-led, community-rooted programme that brings together world-class dance, music, visual arts, and local events like the wonderful Advent at Wainsgate, innovative Heritage Open Days, markets, feasts and much more.
It’s a rare combination here: excellence and warmth. Wainsgate is known for its high-quality programming, but also for the sense of welcome and involvement it offers to people near and far.
We need someone who can help us tell our story—creatively and effectively—across digital platforms, print, and press, and help us grow our audiences and networks at a key moment in our evolution. You don’t need to have all the answers, but you’ll bring ideas, energy, and a willingness to collaborate. You’ll be supported by a team of experienced, dedicated volunteers, and there’s the potential for this role to grow into a trustee position if that’s of interest.
This is a voluntary position, ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful contribution to a place and project that’s making a real impact in both local and international contexts.
