SEWainsgate
Stitch by stitch, supporting the future of Wainsgate
Multiple dates to choose from starting Sat 28th Feb - sign up below
Can you sew — and spare a few hours?
We’re looking for volunteers who are either reasonably confident at hand-stitching or at using a sewing machine (or both!) to help us make a small range of lovely, handmade items. These will be sold at Wainsgate’s main seasonal events throughout the year to help raise funds for the ongoing restoration of Wainsgate Chapel.
This is a practical, hands-on way to contribute directly to the future of the building. By giving a couple of hours of your time, you’ll be helping care for and repair this much-loved place.
Our SEW sessions are always a hive of activity, with people working side by side in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
All fabrics and materials are provided
Full instructions are provided
Tea and coffee, plus a lunch of home-made soup and cake, are included
You can sign up for specific sewing sessions using the form on this page.
If you enjoy sewing (you don’t have to be an expert!), working alongside others, and being part of something tangible and shared, we’d love you to join us.

Many thanks to Ian Mankin and Brisbane Moss generously donating fabric to SEWainsgate.
