HERITAGE
Heritage Now
Wainsgate Chapel holds more than 250 years of layered histories—of faith, work, dissent, song, and community life. We see heritage not as something fixed or finished, but as something alive: always being made, reinterpreted, and carried forward.
Our approach is to treat every project here as a heritage project. Whether we’re restoring the building, hosting artists, or bringing people together around food, music, and dance, we are building community, creating memories, and adding new layers to Wainsgate’s story.
We nurture high-quality, meaningful, and enjoyable cultural activity in the present, because this is how we safeguard the building’s future and ensure its continuing relevance. In doing so, we’re not only honouring the past—we’re also creating the heritage of tomorrow.
